Spring Valley Gravel Racers, I rode the last 30 miles of the new 60 mile route on Tuesday to double check the turn cues on the route map; all systems are a go. Road conditions are as expected, “Fantastic!”some hero gravel, some freshly graded fluffed up limestone, and some washboard. The scenery never gets old.
For 100-milers, the river crossing was impassable last Saturday, by this Saturday you’ll be able to cross and not even get wet based on projected weather. For first time 100-milers, after the river crossing you are on an active gravel pit access road, minimum maintenance one lane, for approx 3/4 mile, please give way to up/down bound gravel trucks.
The weather guessers are predicting a Chamber of Commerce day for us on Saturday, woohoo! As a reminder, it’s Armed Forces Day on Saturday, a perfect day to break out your stars and stripes bike kit.
We’re looking forward to seeing you at the Start and finish lines this Saturday. 0800 rollout.
